Creating The Perfect Skincare Regime

Building the perfect daytime and nighttime regime can be confusing, especially
if you’re a newbie in the skincare game. That’s why we’ve boiled it down to the basics
for you with this fail-proof Skincare Routine 101:
Morning Routine

 Daytime (i.e., in the morning)

  1. Cleanse your entire face with a gentle, everyday cleanser (NOT a bar of soap!)
  2. Tone to close your pores
  3. Moisturize with an all-over moisturizer
  4. Spot Treat as needed (dab collagen cream on wrinkles, acne cream on blemishes, etc.)
  5. Apply SPF underneath makeup to protect your skin all day every day (regardless of how many clouds may appear outside…UV rays can still peek through!)
Evening Routine

Nighttime (i.e., before bed)

  1. Cleanse your entire face
  2. Tone to close your pores
  3. Moisturize with an all-over moisturizer
  4. Apply Under-Eye Cream to treat dark circles and crow’s feet while you sleep
  5. Spot Treat additional wrinkles or blemishes as needed
Additionally, you can exfoliate with a gentle scrub to reduce inflammation
and remove excess skin cells. Moisturize with a calming mask, treat blemishes
with a deep-cleansing clay mask and Steam your face once a week with a facial steamer.

I do not like to acknowledge this, but I’m not blessed with the patience one needs to answer their many queries. Last weekend, though, I ran out of luck when my sisters-in-law decided to go on a shopping spree and leave their kids in my care. So here I was, on a beautiful Saturday, dealing with the tantrums of three little monsters. The best thing about being a kid is that you can come up with an idea of doing anything, anytime, regardless of how strange, insane or difficult it may be for the elders to fulfill it. So out-of-the-blue, the kids made a plan to go swimming, followed by a trip to the nearby kid’s park and then retire to their favourite ice-cream place. Nothing I said or did deterred them. Giving in was...
