I picked up two sunscreens from VLCC‘s newly launched sunscreen range. Today, I am going to review VLCC Fair + Glow Sunscreen Lotion SPF 20 PA+++. Let’s see how it fared me.

My Experience with VLCC Fair + Glow Sunscreen Lotion SPF 20 PA+++:

VLCC Fair + Glow Sunscreen Lotion SPF 20 PA+++ comes in a bright yellow tube packaging with orange flip cap. The packaging is quite simple and sturdy. The flip open cap shuts tight and thus it is travel-friendly.

The first thing that I liked about this product is its smell. It has a mild sandalwood fragrance. It is not at all overpowering, very pleasant and refreshing, gives perfect summery feel and lingers for 2-3 hours after application. The product is white in colour with thick consistency. I don’t understand why it is called lotion. It spreads effortlessly, but not like lotion and takes 1-2 minutes to get absorbed completely. It feels very lightweight and does not make skin look or feel sticky. It does give a light glow to the skin, not an oily sheen but a healthy kind of glow. Once it is absorbed, it leaves face supple and oil-free. I have purchased this variant to apply on daily basis when I just have to go out in the sun for a few minutes. So, SPF 20 PA+++ is sufficient for that purpose. But ladies, who stay out for a longer period of time may find this SPF rating low to stay protected.

Now, little piece of advice on sunscreen usage. As I have mentioned, I have to go in sun for a few minutes, but on daily basis. This little sun exposure was causing skin damage in the form of tanning. I must tell you that even if you are going out in the sun for a little time, do use a sunscreen. I have picked two variants for different usage. You must select sunscreen by keeping few things in mind like how much time you will be out in sun, your skin type, climate of your city, etc. On trying and testing different brands and definitely from IMBB posts, I have came to a conclusion that only one sunscreen will not suit your needs every time. So, try and choose sunscreen which best suits your needs.

I don’t believe in fairness claim at all. I wanted a light sunscreen lotion for every day use. I am quite impressed with soothing sandalwood fragrance of VLCC Fair + Glow Sunscreen Lotion SPF 20 PA+++. It is perfect for everyday use when you spend very less time in the sun in early hours i.e. before noon. I wish it had more of a lotion kind of consistency. It would have made application on arms and legs easier.
